A cat has been reunited with its owner 10 years after going missing.

Lynx disappeared from her home in Hook, Hampshire, in 1997, and her owner, Patricia Charnet, thought she would never see her pet again. Earlier this week a stray was found in Carterton, Oxfordshire, and handed in to the Blue Cross centre in Burford. A scan showed that the 12-year-old tabby was microchipped and the centre tracked down her owner, who lived 60 miles away.

With the recent pet food recalls, it isn't stopping. More pet food are added to the recall list. The Food and Drug Administration says Natural Balance Pet Foods is recalling two kinds of pet food.
The announcement by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration was the first indication that a U.S. company had used melamine as an animal feed ingredient. Previously, the problem of melamine in animal feed was thought to be contained to China, where manufacturers had added it to wheat gluten.

Home cooked food for your pet is time-consuming and also requires a certain level of knowledge. Be careful when first starting your pet on a home cooked diet. Don't over feed your pet, don't mix raw and cooked meat in the food, and make sure your pet is getting the recommended daily balance of vitamins and supplements. There are many overweight and obese Americans. Even, pets are also putting on the pounds.
According to Dr. Rebecca Remillard, of the MSPCA-Angell Animal Hospital, "A third of the pet population, dogs and cats combined are overweight, and about 10 percent of that population is considered to be obese,"
High calorie pet food and providing too much food are the main factors why our pets are gaining so much weight. The extra pounds can be life threatening. In dogs, it cause them to live two years less, have health issues with their knees, hip and breathing difficulties. And in cats, they are vunerable to diabetes.
Feed them 2 to 3 times of small-portion meals throughout the day. Stay away from pet food which contains preservatives and artificial flavors.
By measuring the amount of food your pet gets based on their size, you can keep them healthy and happy.
Okay, maybe they aren't too happy since we limit their food in-take, but we have to remind ourselves that our pets are at risk if they are obese. Just have to ignore those puppy eyes and begging stunts they do for us. Replace it with loving praises.
